Gas Supply Suspended in Azerbaijani Sheki Region

Azerbaijan, Sheki, 24 January / Gas supply was temporary suspended in the Azerbaijani Sheki region. The cause of the suspension was a gas leakage which occurred as a result of the repair work carried out on the pipeline which supplies gas to the houses located nearby the central market, Adil Mustafayev, the head of the Sheki Gas Exploitation Administration, said to Trend on 24 January.

As a result of the gas leakage, an explosion occurred in the central market of Sheki today. An employee of the Gas Exploitation Administration suffered injures.

According to Mustafayev, gas supply will be restored by the end of the day.

Sheki is located 352km north-west of Baku.
