Azerbaijan, Baku, 31 January / Тrend corr. S. Agayeva / For the time being, there are no Azerbaijanis in the death toll of the explosion in Istanbul, the Azerbaijani Consul General to Istanbul Sayad Salakhli said in a telephone discussion on 31 January.
In the morning of 31 January, an explosion occurred in the Davutpasha factory in Istanbul. As a result, 17 died and 68 suffered injuries. The cause of the explosion was illegal pyrotechnics, according to Turkish media.
"We have been in constant touch with the local authorities but as yet we have not been informed that there are Azerbaijani citizens in the ruins," Salakhli said.
