World Congress of Azerbaijani Youth Founded in Baku

Azerbaijan, Baku, 17 March / Trend corr. J.Babayeva / The presentation of the World Congress of Azerbaijani Youth was held in Baku. The Congress was founded on 13 February.

Rashad Khasayogli, chairman and co-founder of the Congress said the aim of the Congress is to link the Azerbaijani youth of nation-wide problems, to protect their rights, and to inform the world of the realities of Azerbaijan and to strengthen the activity of the Azerbaijani Diaspora organizations.

The main aim of the Congress is to coordinate the activity of the Azerbaijani youth in the world. Congress's initiative groups have been founded in Dania, Turkey, Estonia, Ukraine, Canada, the United States and others.

"The Congress is planning to cooperate with the State Committee with Work of Azerbaijanis Residing Abroad, Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Culture and Tourism Ministry and other State departments," chairman stated.

Plans by the Congress for 2008 and 2009 include cooperation with youth organizations from other countries, and also to inform the world of the facts about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The Congress will hold its first meeting in September in one of the European countries.
