( dpa ) - Ex-Beatle Paul McCartney was Monday granted a divorce from his second wife, Heather Mills, ending a four-year marriage after a lengthy and acrimonious legal battle.
"It's over, yes," said Mills, as she emerged from the court building in London after a three-hour session.
Sir Paul, 65, and the former model, 40, announced their separation in May, 2006, after four years of wedlock. They have a four-year-old daughter, Beatrice Milly.
Financial details of the settlement were not immediate disclosed Monday, but reports have speculated that Mills would receive a sum of 25 million pounds (50 million dollars).
This is reportedly much less than Mills asked for, sparking speculation that the divorce could be the most expensive in British legal history.
Sir Paul's reputed wealth is estimated as being in excess of 800 million pounds.
