Azerbaijan, Baku, 7 April / corr. Trend K. Ramazanova/ The official Baku believe that there no problems exist in Azerbaijan regarding political prisoners problem.
" Azerbaijan has fulfilled the commitment taken before the Council of Europe," said Ali Hasanov, the Head of Social and Political Relations Department of the Presidential Administration.
The list of political prisoners developed by the Monitoring Group of Human Right Organizations indicates that there are 29 political prisoners in Azerbaijan.
According to Hasanov, the Government is checking the list of political prisoners developed by NGO.
The special commission of the Council of Europe will be established for the joint work with the Azerbaijani government to investigate the issue of political prisoners, said Edward Lintner, the German MP and the former head of Monitoring Committee of the Council of Europe in Baku on 7 April.
