Azerbaijan, Baku, 23 April / Trend corr. R.Ergun / Berti Fogts, German coach of the Azerbaijani National football team, supports the candidature of Baku to host the Olympic Games in 2016.
"I believe that this country has good potential. Azerbaijan is a country of the future and full of will, which is proved by the country's intension to host the Olympic Games -2016," Fogts said.
He called the fight of Baku with such countries like Madrid, Tokyo and Chicago to host the Olympic games-2016. "Nomination of the candidature of Baku to host the Olympic Games will lay strong foundation for future initiatives of the country," he noted.
Since April, Fogts is leading the Azerbaijani team. Before that Fogts had worked with the teams of Scotland and Nigeria.
The German coach aims to achieve success. "We should develop good strategy, like that in Britain and German, in order to attain positive results. The positive results will help to bring up young football players in the country. If Azerbaijani team could achieve positive results during its game against Portuguese, then why it cannot reach same success during the game against Germany?" he stated.
Azerbaijani National team will pay against Germany, Russia, Finland, Wels and Liechtenstein during the selection tournament of the World Championship -2010.
Azerbaijan has signed the deal with German coach until summer 2010.
