Azerbaijan, Baku, 28 April / Trend corr S. Ilhamgizi/ Surakhani district in Baku and Kristiina district in Tallin have been twinned, State Committee for Work with Azerbaijanis residing abroad reported.
The agreement was undersigned in Tallinn by Ilgar Abbasov, head of Surakhani administration, and Mikhail Korb, head of Kristiina administration. A tree of friendship was planted in the Governor's Garden in the Lovenrukh Park.
Furthermore, the Azerbaijani kindergarten school Fidan attached to the Estonian-Azerbaijani cultural centre Aydan was named after the academician Zarifa Aliyeva, a distinguished ophthalmologist and doctor of medical sciences. A bust of Zarifa Aliyeva was presented to the kindergarten school by Surakhani district due to Aliyeva's 85th anniversary. The event involved Estonian Vice-Speaker Kristina Ojuland, Estonian MP Eldar Afandiyev, wife of Turkish Ambassador to Estonia Fatma Shule Soysal, head of Kristiina district Mikhail Korb, head of Lasnamae district Andrey Novikov and head of Surakhani administration Ilgar Abbasov.
An additional plot of land was presented to Fidan kindergarten, which began its operations a year ago, for its successful activities. Abbasov took the kindergarten under his guardianship.
