UK, London, 9 May / Trend G. Ahmadova/ Azerbaijani Embassy in UK held an event dedicated to the 85th Anniversary of Azerbaijan's all-nation leader Heydar Aliyev.
The representatives of the UK Parliament's House of Lords and House of Commons, Foreign Ministry, diplomatic missions accredited to London, Azerbaijani diaspora were in attendance.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to UK Fakhraddin Gurbanov delivered opening speech to inform the attendees of the life and activities of Heydar Aliyev, his contributions to Azerbaijani people. "The policy determined by Heydar Aliyev is still successfully pursued in Azerbaijan today, as a result of which country's prestige in the international political scene is steadily increasing," Gurbanov said. The attendees watched a documentary about the life and activities of Heydar Aliyev and a book from the 'Life of Outstanding People' series was presented.
Turkish Ambassador to UK Yigit Alpogan, former UK Ambassador to Azerbaijan Roger Thomas and Professor Tamara Dragadze shared their remembrances about Heydar Aliyev.
