Monitoring of Professional Ethnical Norms in Press Organizations of Azerbaijan Commences
Azerbaijan, Baku, 13 June /corr. Trend E.Babayev / Monthly monitoring of implementation of professional ethnical norms in press organizations of Azerbaijan commenced. The monitoring being commenced by the Center for Socio-Economic Studies 'Inkishaf' and Center for Legal and Democratic Reforms will last up to 30 June. The monitoring is aimed at inspecting processes in the press of the country, studying common intellectual level of the press, assessing facts of activities affecting honor and dignity of the citizens, a source at "Inkishaf" Center reported to Trend on 13 June.
Monitoring will cover 15 daily newspapers.
According to the information, the results of the monitoring will help form public opinion on shortages and improve professional level of the journalists.
The assessment of the monitoring will be established on the basis of four key criteria (journalists' breaking professional ethics, reference to source of information, following principles of inviolability of honor and dignity; plagiarism; purposeful distortion of facts; slander, insulting and groundless accusation). The assessment will be carried out by professional lawyers and experts on press affairs.
