Swiss border guards stopped six German football hooligans on the motorway at the Swiss-French border at Basle, the officials said Saturday.
The men, who were named on Germany's hooligan database, were aged 23 to 33 and were detained at the frontier ahead of Friday's two Euro matches in Switzerland, dpa reported.
They carried two knives, teeth protectors and several pairs of padded gloves. They were handed over to the German authorities.
