Azerbaijan, Baku, 3 July / Trend corr E.Babayev/ Results of the research carried out by the Caspian Sea Ecological Monitoring of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Ecology & Natural Resources in the Baku-Absheron and Sumgayit shores in May-June have been divulged.

Since end of May, beach season opened in Azerbaijan. Ministry of Ecology & Natural Resources monitors the water each month in order to reveal how pure it is.

Ministry reported to Trend on 3 July that it had carried out 484 physical, chemical and microbiological analyses of 67 water samples taken from 29 places in different beaches.

Research revealed that number of components in the sea water is in norm. Weak pollution nearby Shuvalan and Buzovna settlements is mainly caused by wrong clarification in the biological treatment unit in Buzovna and the treatment unit in Shuvalan is currently repaired.

Physical and chemical components in the water nearby of Jorat, Novkhani, Fatmai, Goradil, Zira, Turkan and the 5th micro region of Sumgayit are in norm. As a result of microbiological research, pollution and high norm of colon bacillus bacteria was revealed in the water samples taken from the areas.

Water samples taken from Hovsan, Nahimov, Khanlar, Zikh settlements, Sahil beach in the Garadag region, nearby Girmizi Gol and Gaz processing plant showed that several chemical components in them are over norm. Microbiological research revealed excessive amount of colon bacillus bacteria.
