Azerbaijan, Nakhchivan, 8 July / corr. Trend E. Mammadov/ The entrance examinations of the first specialty group in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan began later than the earlier fixed time because of the unstable weather.
The plane, examination papers and observers for the examinations on board, landed in the airport of Nakhchivan at 12:00 a.m.
Though entrance examinations were fixed at 11:00 a.m. all over the country, the examinations in Nakhchivan began at 13:00 p.m.
The quota for first group of specialties makes up 8,125. A total of 5 people pretend to one place in first specialty group.
Two buildings have been allotted in Nakhchivan for entrance examinations.
At total of 33,558 people appealing for higher schools are graduates of the Azerbaijani language department and 3,388 - Russian language department. Some 263 school graduates wiling to receive education in the first specialty group are foreign citizens.
A total of 30,883 school graduates will take exams in Baku and 1,251 - in Sumgayit. Mathematics, mathematics, information science and engineering account great part of quota of 8,125 places.
