Azerbaijan, Baku, 8 August / Trend , corr. I.Alizade / The Azerbaijan State Student Admission Commission announced student admission to vacancies, which remained after the entrance examinations, at the state and private universities.
"Applications will be received to the university vacancies from 10 to 15 August," Maleyka Abbaszade, the Chairman of the State Commission, said at a news conference on 8 August.
A total of 26,571 school-leavers were admitted to 28,132 planned places at the Azerbaijani universities in 2008. A total of 94.5% of admission plan was fulfilled. School-leavers, who entered universities, should submit their documents to the universities from 11 to 21 August.
According to Abbaszade, there are 1,562 vacancies at universities (5.5% of students' admission plan). The chairman of the commission said that results on students' admission to the vacancies which remained after the entrance examinations would be publicized on 16 August.
Students' admission was announced to 398 vacancies on the first specialty group, 820 on the second, 67 on the third and 277 on the fourth.
The chairman of the commission said that 99% of students' admission plan at the Azerbaijani state universities had been fulfilled (99.56% at the Baku State University, 100% at the Medical University, 98.93% at the Technical University and 98.3% at the Economic University). Amongst private universities the Asia University fulfilled 100% of the plan.
