Trial on Drug Trafficking by Children of Renowned People Held

Azerbaijan, Baku, 5 November / Trend , corr. K.Zarbaliyeva /The preliminary trial involving members of the organized gang, which unites children of renowned people, accused of drug trafficking, was held in Azerbaijan.

In the preliminary sitting on Orkhan Nadirov, Ilhama Guliyeva's son, Mahir Mirsaslanov, Adalat Miraslanov's son, and Yalchin Hasanov, Rashad Hasanov's son, and other 11 people, lawyers submitted a petition.

According to Trend , Gulaya Ilyasova, the lawyer of the accused Elshan Budagov, sued a petition to cancel the punishment for client.

Gulsara Imanova, the lawyer of the accused Kamala Eyvazova, requested to cancel the punishment (imprisonment) for her client, bringing the fact that Eyvazova is ill.

The lawyer Mahira Miraslanova of the former Prosecutor Adalat Miraslanov's son Narmin Mammadov, brought a petition and said that her client suffers from different diseases since 1998. The lawyer requested the court to carry out complete judicial expertise over her client.

Alaskar Alaskarov, the lawyer of Yalchin Hasanov, requested to expertise the  composition of ecstasy.

The state prosecutor Nariman Alakparov called the petitions ungrounded and requested the court to reject them.

The preliminary session was over and the next session was scheduled for 14 November.

Orkhan Nadirov, Mahir Mirsaslanov, Yalchin Hasanov, Elshan Rustamov, Ali Ismayilov, Zubiya Gulami, Vugar Aliyev, Javidan Aliyev, Ramin Hasanov Kamila Eyvazova, Elshan Budagov, Hasan Hasanov and Mirali Aliyev are accused of the Article 206 (smuggling), 234.1( illegal acquiring or keeping of drug) and 234.4.1 (illegal acquiring or keep of drug for private use) of the Criminal Code of the Azerbaijani Republic.

The accused were arrested as a result of the operation, which was held by the National Security Ministry in may.
