Fabio Quagliarella has scored a goal in each half - his first in European competition - to lead Udinese to a 2-1 win over Spartak Moscow in a UEFA Cup group match, the Associated Press reported.
The Italian striker put Udinese ahead in the 12th minute, beating two Spartak defenders and then shooting low into the net from inside the box. A minute earlier, the Italian striker struck the woodwork from just two meters (yards) out after a high cross from the left.
Argentinean defender Clemente Rodriguez equalized for the home side just five minutes later with a shot off an inswinging corner from Aleksandr Pavlenko.
Quagliarella restored Udinese's lead in the 60th minute Thursday from the penalty spot after Rodriguez fouled Simone Pepe in the box.
