UN Religious Advisory Council to have a Good Impact on World Events: Sheil-ul-Islam

Russia, Moscow, November 12/ Trend , corr R. Agayev/ New UN Religious Advisory Council can have a good impact on events around the world, Sheil-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, chief of the Caucasus Muslims Clerical Board said at meeting of religious leaders held in Moscow today.

Religious Advisory Council will help solve various ethnic confrontations, Pashazade said.

"Comprehensive fair solutions of international disputes should be reached by peaceful means," he said.

Peacekeeping is a priority sphere of cooperation between religious figures and the United Nations, he added.

Religious Advisory Council is a permanent body which will involve world leaders. We look forward to holding summit of world religious leaders on September 30 to October 2, 2009 in Baku," Pashazade said.

Metropolitan Cyril Smolenski and Kaliningradski, chief of Foreign Church Relations Department, Allahshuku Pashazade, chief of Caucasus Muslims Clerical Board, archbishop Antonio Menini, representative of Sacred Throne of Russia, Chief Rabbi of Israel Yona Metzger, Budimir Lonchar, representative of US religious fund Challenge of Conscious and Mohammad Hayat, special envoy of secretary general of Muslim World League were in attendance.
