Azerbaijani Musician Commemorated in Israel
Azerbaijan, Baku, 17 November / corr Trend J.Babayeva / Organized by the Israel-Azerbaijan
International Association, a commemoration evening, dedicated to Muslim Magomayev, was held in Ashdod Chamber Opera Theatre of Israel.
Azerbaijani people's artists Dina Tumarkina and Tofig Mirzoyev shared their memories with participants of the event at the commemoration evening.
"World-known and unique singer Muslim Magomayev popularized Azerbaijan by his work as a deserved representative of Azerbaijani elite and patriot," Yana Salman, member of board of directors of AzIz, said.
Nina Yarova, vice president of AzIz and laureate of Azerbaijani state prize, who read out a letter of Iosif Shagal, president of the organization and member of the Knesset, to the participants of the event, spoke of the singer of genius heartily. She knew him in television film 'New meetings, Muslim' already in her youth.
Soloists of the theatre performed romances and pop songs of Muslim Magomayev's repertory. In the end of event, speakers came out with candles on the scene, all audience stood up and the last creation 'Farewell Baku' of unforgettable singer was performed.
67-year-old Muslim Magomayev, people's artist of the USSR (The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) and outstanding singer of the present died the early night of 25 October in Moscow.
