Azerbaijani Court not Restores Registration of Election Monitoring Center
Azerbaijan, Baku, November 25/ Trend , corr K. Zarbaliyeva/ The appeal of the Election Monitoring Center (EMC) whose license was canceled, was denied, representative of EMC Intigam Aliyev said to Trend .
Baku Appeal Court upheld the decision of Khatai district Court on November 25.
The EMC representative described the court decision as unfair and said they will appeal to the Supreme Court.
On May 14, 2008, Khatai District Court canceled registration of Election Monitoring Center at the appeal of Registration and Notary Office of the Justice Ministry.
The Ministry motivated cancellation of EMC by the unclear information about the founders in organizational documents, not informing Ministry about the change in the address of the Center and not including date about representative offices of the Center in 8 cities of the country to the state register.
EMC introduced documents to the Justice Ministry for the first time in March 14, 2006.
The respective body of the Ministry did not register documents attributing it to technical reasons. EMC has been rejected registration five times.
EMC was finally registered in February 2008.
