Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec.17 / Trend , corr. J.Babayeva / The level of polluted trans-boundary rivers in Azerbaijan - Kur and Araz Rivers to a considerable degree exceeds norms.
According to the results of the monitoring carried out by the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry in the first half of December, in the points, where the Kur River in the territory of Georgia is subjected to trans-boundary pollution, significant exceeding of permissible norms of admixture of phenol and copper connections, which are been specific contaminators in the composition of water, is observed. Phenols exceed the permissible norms of admixture two times in the point of Shikhli-2, copper connections - three times, phenols and copper connections exceed the permissible norms of admixture two times in the Agstafacay reservoir.
If the biogenic elements the ions of nitrate and ammonium are within the limits of standard, nitrite ions in the Shikhli- 2 point of Kur River exceeded the permissible standard of admixture 2.4 times, in the Agstafachay - 2.7 times and two times in Agstafacay reservoir. The discharge of the withdrawals of everyday, cattle-breeding and industrial establishments from the territory of Armenia without the filtration is the reason for this.According to the results of monitoring, significant exceeding of norms of quantity of copper and phenols is observed in the transboundary Araz River with Armenia. Being the basic contaminators of water phenol and copper exceeded the permissible norms of admixture in Araz Goradiz four times, Shahsevan and Bahramtapa - two times.

If ions of nitrate and ammonium have enough norms within biogenic, nitrite ions in Goradiz Araz River exceeded the permissible standard of admixture by 1.1 times, Bahramtapa - 1.5 times, Shahsevan - 1.4 times. The discharge of emission from the territory of Armenia is the basic reason for this.
For the solution of problems of trans-border water basins Azerbaijan the Helsinki convention "Protection and use of aqueous drains and international lakes, which pass boundary" was ratified at the regional level within the framework of international standards.  Problem aggravates the fact that Armenia and Georgia did not join this convention
