Georgian poet’s book presented in Azerbaijan

A new collection of the Georgian poet Shota Iatashvili's poems Café in Veriya Garden at the Azerbaijani language was presented in the Center of Modern Art, as well as the poetry meeting was held on March 29. The meeting was held within the project headed by the head of Azerbaijan-Georgia Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, member of the Milli Majlis Ganira Pashayeva and the executive secretary of Pen-QUAM organization, poet Selim Babullaogli.

The book comprised poems of the author and an article analyzing the last period of Georgian literature. MP Ganira Pashayeva, plenipotentiary representative of the Georgian embassy, famous literary men, translators and media outlets participated in the meeting. Completing the meeting, MP Pashayeva delivered presents to Iatashvili and other guests.   

Editor-in-chief of Ulduz magazine, writer Elchin Huseynbeyli awarded Iatashvili for the abovementioned book with diploma and monetary premium Poeziya odulunun of Ulduz magazine for 2009.

The author himself and Babullaogli read some poems during the meeting.

The days of Georgian book in Azerbaijan are held as joint project of Azerbaijan-Georgia Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group and Pen-QUAM organization.
