Azerbaijan, Baku, 2 July / Trend , A.Huseynbala /

Lawsuit against the Press Council of Azerbaijan was rejected.

"On the basis of the claim by the editor-in-chief of Corruption and Society magazine, M.Hamidov, a trial took place in Binagadi district court with regards to the Press Council of Azerbaijan and chairman of Council's anti-racketeering journalism commission Vugar Rahimzade," a source at the Press Council of Azerbaijan told Trend on July 2.

During the trial, Hamidov's claim on "honor, dignity and credibility of the business, providing a refutation, compensation for the moral and material damage", put forward with regard to the defendants, was denied. It was decided that both claims have no grounds.

On April 24, the Press Council has decided to include the Corruption and Society magazine in the list of "racketeering" publications for its indifferent attitude towards the ethical principles, overstepping professional authorities.
