The great Azerbaijani writer Ismail Shikhli's novel, 'Wild Kura', has been translated into Turkish.
Speaking at the presentation of the Turkish version of the book, Head of the Ataturk Center, Nizami Jafarov, said that Shikhli is a person about whom one simply has to write and talk.
"This great writer's most beautiful work, Wild Kura, has been translated into Turkish," Jafarov said.
The book was translated by writer and journalist Yasemin Bayer, he said. Shikhli's novel was not his first experience translating an Azerbaijani novel.
"I consider Ismail Shikhli my teacher. While translating the novel, I learned the Gazakh accent," Bayer said.
He said that people still love and read great Azerbaijani novels now.
The 90th anniversary of Ismail Shikhli 's birth is being celebrated in 2009.
