Visiting the 16th International Exhibition of Press & News Agencies in Tehran, former Iranian presidential candidate Mehdi Karrubi held meetings during the exhibition.
Karrubi was met in the exhibition by both his supporters and opponents.
The supporters of the ex-speaker, welcomed Karrubi and sounded slogans in his address with regards to the elections. Karrubi's supporters sounded slogans such as 'Death to dictator', 'Death to Russia', 'Long live Mousavi and Karrubi', 'We support you'.
Trend correspondent who attends the exhibition reported that protesting against these slogans, the supporters of the current President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad sounded slogans criticizing Karrubi, saying 'death to Munafiqs'. As a result, a confrontation occurred between supporters of Karrubi and Ahmadinejad. Ahmadinejad's supporters tried to attack on Karrubi. During confrontation, several stands destroyed during the exhibition. Karrubi was removed from the exhibition hall after interference of the security service.
