Azerbaijan hosts Hemse National Intellectual Games

The Hemse National Intellectual Games will be held twice per year for university students in the first six months of the year and schoolchildren in the second six months, Azerbaijani Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Intigam Babayev told media today.

The Hemse National Intellectual Games will be held twice per year for university students in the first six months of the year and schoolchildren in the second six months, Azerbaijani Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Intigam Babayev told media today.

He said Hemse is the first national brand of intellectual games. The games are also planned to be played at the international level in the future.

"These games aim to expand the world view of youth and knowledge of Azerbaijani history and culture," Babayev said.

The Hemse Azerbaijani National Intellectual Games opened in Baku today.

Roughly 22 teams will compete.

The championship is held within the Year of Youth in Azerbaijan.
