The works of students who study at the Azerbaijani State Academy of Arts in Azerbaijan will be exhibited at the U.S. Embassy in Baku for several months.

Eighty artistic and sculptural works were presented in the competition "America Through My Eyes" early this year. Ten are now on exhibit at the embassy.

"These works inspired me and the embassy staff to establish new bridges and accelerate the continuation of closer ties between the U.S. and Azerbaijan," Acting U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Donald Lu said at a reception in honor of the academy's teaches and students.

He added that a program is being held between U.S. and Azerbaijani artistic communities. Under the program, the artists Suzanne Rees and Gustav Robert Roche arrived in Baku from Philadelphia to supervise an exhibition of miniature art books opening Dec. 11.
