The Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry calls on Caspian states to opt against their industrial sturgeon catch quotas, the ministry's Press Service told Trend news today.
Each Caspian country has the right to fully or partially refuse its industrial sturgeon catch quotas. Azerbaijan voluntarily refused to catch thorns 30 years ago.
The country refused another quota on catching sturgeons at a meeting of the Aquatic Biological Resources Board in Iran in July 2009.
