The Turkmen Embassy in Azerbaijan denied information in the media about a ban on New Year's festivities in restaurants.

Ferghana.ru reported that Turkmenistan has banned festivities on New Year in restaurants.

The information is false, Turkmen Ambassador to Azerbaijan Annamammad Mammadov told Trend said.

"Ferghana.ru is fabricating sensational news," he said. "These actions are unethical for journalists ethics. Also disturbing the president is blatant slander."

Ferghana.ru wants to draw the attention of e-media outlets of the region and its respective audience", the ambassador said.

"I would like to reiterate that information spread by Ferghana.ru is false and defamatory. I want to express my discontent and anxiety in this regard. At the same time, I call on to treat great respect  for the Turkmen President. The Turkmen President is a great honor and pride of every citizen of Turkmenistan", the diplomat said.
