The Azerbaijani Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources fined legal and physical entities in the amount of 34,725 manats for ecological damage in the second half of December 2009. About 30,233 manats of this amount have been paid, the Ministry told Trend today.
A total of 307,848 manats was fined for causing damage to the environment. About 7,786 manats of this sum have been paid.
The fines violation of ecological legislation on effective use of water resources during this period amounted to 10,000 manats. About 36,846 manats (including fines left from last year) of this amount has been paid.
The fines for air pollution amounted to 900 manats, 2,368 manats of which (including fines remained from last year) have been paid. The fines for land pollution amounted to 1,400 manats, with 225 manats already paid.
Fines for protection of the flora made up 6,875 manats, with 12,416 manats (including fines, remaining from last year) paid. Fines for protection of fauna made up 2,400 manats with 1,000 manat paid.
