An Azerbaijani court launched trial process on persons accused of drug smuggling from Iran to Azerbaijan.
Today the Azerbaijani Heinous Crimes Court held a preparatory meeting on criminal case on Iranian citizen Gulamirza Rahman Ajar and Azerbaijani citizens Adalat Huseynov, Mansur Agayev, Seyfulla Mehbaliyev and Ahmed Safarov.
Judicial review is scheduled for Feb.12.
They are charged with Article 206.4 (smuggling) and 234.4.1, 234.4.3 (illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances) of Azerbaijani Criminal Code.
The employees of the State Customs Committee' Astara Region Department arrested them Jan.6, 2009.
