In Azerbaijan, the number of citizens receiving the labor pension has increased by 33,294 (2.6 percent) against the beginning of 2009 up to 1,308,432. Of labor pensioners, 39.4 percent (516,142 people) are men, and 60.6 percent (792,290 people) are women of whom 389,919 are women with many children, Elman Babayev, Head of the public relations department of the State Social Security Fund (SSSF) told Trend on Friday.
On this January 1, the number of those receiving pension as state employees was 10,112. On the whole, 133,881 people of the number of labor pensioners are working pensioners, and 37,481 people receive labor pension at preferential terms.
The number of persons receiving labor pension on invalidity is 311,849, and in connection with loss of a breadwinner is 137,924. Average monthly pension, after having increased by around 5.3 percent in early 2009, reached to AZN 100.4 at the end of the year.
There are three kinds of labor pension: the labor pension on pension retirement age, the labor pension on invalidity, and the labor pension in connection with loss of a breadwinner. According to the legal provisions of Azerbaijan, persons who have the right to different kinds of pension can be appointed only one kind of pension, upon their choice.
