Azerbaijan sentenced persons, who introduced themselves as the National Security Ministry's and Executive Power's employees and misappropriated funds of citizens in large amount.
Today Serious Crimes Court sentenced Baku residents Rufat Suleymanov to 3 years, Ahmed Seyidov to 11 years, Akif Azizov to 10 years imprisonment.
Seymur Bayramov was sentenced to seven years six months and 24 days conditional imprisonment and was released in the Court's hall.
Last year, Azizov misappropriated money from Baku residents Arif Jabiyev, Nizami Guliyev, Rustam Guliyev and Mammad Mammadov ($21,000 from each), under the pretext of employment in SOCAR.
The above-mentioned persons, introducing themselves as employees of National Security Ministry's and Absheron and Khatai districts' executive powers have committed acts that caused a substantial violation of physical entities' rights and lawful interests.
Thus, in early June 2006, entering into a criminal conspiracy, Suleymanov and Seyidov under the pretext of receiving the order and a certificate for the land area of two hectares in the village Fatmayi settlement of Absheron region, introducing themselves as Khatai District Executive Power, took 54,000 U.S. dollars and 48,556 manats from Ismayilov Fikret.
In October 2007, Rufat Suleymanov, introducing himself as correspondent, together with Ahmed Seyidov and Akif Azizov has taken and missappropriated 11,000 dollars from Qurban Sadigova, under the pretext of obtaining permit for conducting construction works in the Khatai District Executive Power.
The accused misappropriated $4,000 from the resident of Baku, Rana Ismayilova, by promising her to employ her daughter as a nurse in a hospital and her son to a profitable job.
