Georgian language courses opened in 84 Azerbaijani schools of Georgia

In accordance with the action plan prepared to support integration of Azerbaijanis residing in Georgia into the country's society, organizational and technical issues in connection with the opening of the Georgian language courses in 34 Azerbaijani schools have been solved. Various kinds of courses were established in 84 of 124 Azerbaijani schools operating now in Georgia. This was stated in a governmental report on results of the year, presented to Azerbaijani Parliament.

In accordance with the action plan prepared to support integration of Azerbaijanis residing in Georgia into the country's society, organizational and technical issues in connection with the opening of the Georgian language courses in 34 Azerbaijani schools have been solved. Various kinds of courses were established in 84 of 124 Azerbaijani schools operating now in Georgia. This was stated in a governmental report on results of the year, presented to Azerbaijani Parliament.

"In addition, support was provided for publication of newspapers Region press, Ziya, an press organ of the Azerbaijani Intelligentsia of Georgia Association, magazine Meydan, the folk dance band comprised of 34 people, was provided with the national costumes, as well as the organization of the national movement Geyrat was supported with scientific-practical conference on theme of "The realities of the 21st century and the role of the media and NGOs in shaping the development of the Azerbaijani diaspora," the report stated.

According to unofficial data, about 500,000 Azerbaijanis reside in Georgia.

Azerbaijan has 417 overseas diaspora, 98 youth, 39 women organizations and 68 media outlets.
