Azerbaijan, Baku, March 15 / Trend K.Zarbaliyeva /
Azerbaijan issued certificates to another 30 religious communities that passed registration.
In this regard, the State Committee for Working with Religious Associations Chairman handed the certificates over to the representatives of the religious communities.
About 532 religious communities have passed the registration at the committee before making any additions and amendments to existing legislation, State Committee Chairman Hidayat Orujov said. Other religious entities have operated without appropriate registration. The committee received documents from about 800 religious entities for the state registration. Of these, 252 have already passed the state education registration. The registration process is expected to be completed in the next two months, he told Trend .
The Azerbaijani government and society followed intransigence with regard to extraneous influences that might impair their religious stability. From this perspective, the religious communities' leaders must express a more active and educational position in eliminating external interference and increase the level of a religious society in terms of their power, Orujov said at the meeting with religious communities' leaders.
"A model of state-religion relations in other countries can not be imported into Azerbaijan. These negative trends in the future will be categorically rejected. Not any faith or sect, but only high values of Islam and the religion exist for the Azerbaijani state. The religious communities should provide direct assistance to state and society in the protection of those values," he added.
