The renowned German conductor Pierre-Dominique Ponelli will conduct the "La Traviata" play April 3 in Azerbaijan.
The visit will be realized with the invitation of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, the theater reported.
Honored Azerbaijan artist Inara Babayeva will play the part of Violetta for the first time. Other Honored artists of Azerbaijan, Azer Zeynalov (Alfredo's part), Avaz Abdullayev (Germon), Ali Asgarov (Marquis) and Akram Poladov (doctor) will also participate in the play.
Ponelli is one of Europe's most popular conductors. He worked as a chief conductor and artistic director of the Belarusian National Philharmonic Orchestra from 1992 to 1996.
