An Azerbaijani court read out the sentence on the militaries accused of extorting money from fellow officers.
Today, the Azerbaijani Military Heinous Crimes Court ended the trial process on criminal cases of soldiers of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry's Militray Unit No.N junior ensigns - David Hajiyev and Azer Shamilova, soldiers - Umuhan Allahverdiyev, Parvin Hojatov and Radik Gudratov.
Hojatov and Shamilov were sentenced to 1.5 years of imprisonment, Allahverdiyev - to one year and three months, Hajiyev - to one year and Gudratov- a one-year suspended sentence.
The militaries were accused of the Article 331.3 (the insult by one military man of another during performance or in connection with performance of duties on military service), 341.1 (abusing by chief or official of authority or service position, excess of authority or service powers, deliberate inactivity of authority, if these acts were made regularly or from mercenary prompting or other personal interest, as well as caused essential harm), 332.2 .1 (Infringement of authorized rules on mutual relation between military men at absence of subordination relations, repeatedly), 332.2.3 (Infringement of authorized rules on mutual relation between military men at absence of subordination relations by group of persons, on preliminary arrangement by group of persons or by organized group), 182.2.1 (extortion on preliminary arrangement by group of persons), 182.2.2 (extortion, committed repeatedly), 182.2.3 (extortion with violence) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code.
