The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) and Azerbaijani News Agency Trend signed a memorandum of understanding. The document was undersigned by Trend Director General Ilgar Huseynov and SANA CEO Adnan Mahmoud.

Under the agreement, the parties will maintain regular exchange of online news and analytical materials, as well as pictures of domestic and international developments in their countries. The sides intend to cooperate closely in providing informational support during the visits of heads of state and official delegations, as well as to consult in international forums.

SANA and Trend agreed to cooperate and exchange professional experience.

SANA is a national official news agency of Syria, established in 1965 in Damascus, under the Ministry of Information. SANA daily produces more than 500 news in Arabic, English, French, Spanish and Turkish languages. The agency distributes more than 150 photos a day and provides multimedia services. SANA has reporters in all government departments and offices of all 14 Syrian provinces and has more than 40 correspondents in other Arab and foreign countries.

Trend is an independent news agency, established in 1995 in Azerbaijan and a leading provider of news for the South Caucasus and Caspian region. Trend daily publishes about 500 news in five languages - English, Russian, Azerbaijani, Persian and Arabic. Trend offers high-quality multimedia materials and analytical articles written by leading analysts in the political and economical spheres.
