An Azerbaijani court sentenced a military serviceman accused of raping his colleague today.
The Baku Military Heinous Crimes Court sentenced Defense Ministry Military Unit No. N Junior Sergeant Arif Gurbanov to eight years imprisonment.
Gurbanov was charged under the Article 341 (abusing authority, excess or inactivity of authority), 331 (insult, causing injuries or torture of a military man), 329.3 (resistance to a chief or compulsion to infringement of official duties with drawing minor serious or less serious harm to health, as well as entailed to other minor serious consequences), 134 (threat to murder or causing of serious harm to health) and 150.2.5 (violent actions of sexual nature; committed repeatedly) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code.
The accused raped his colleagues and threatened to murder them during his service.
