Today, the Executive Committee of the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) heard proposals on four-stage championship involving 12 teams, AFFA Secretary Elkhan Mammadov told journalists today.

"The meeting also discussed the format of the Six. The participants noted about the positive and negative aspects of the format of the Six. "Positive side of this format is that the championship passes busy. Let us take the match Khazar Lankaran - Inter. One can say this match was a game of the season. A negative aspect of this separation into two groups with six teams is that the interest in the second matches of the Six drops or even disappears. Games in the second "six" are not broadcasted on television. The meeting touched all these issues," Mammadov said.

He said a final decision on the format of the championship has not been adopted yet.

"The final decision will be made after completion of the current championship," Mammadov added.

Mammadov said the teams of the first league also intend to take part in the upcoming championship.
