Gala festival has been held at the Gala State Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum Complex with support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The festival is aimed at preserving and promoting Azerbaijan's rich history and household traditions. AzerTAj state news agency reported.
President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva and her daughter Leyla attended the festival's opening ceremony.
The festival was attended by 2,500 children from secondary and boarding schools and orphanages.
Mehriban Aliyeva viewed "Absheron fortresses" project, and toured "Gala" castle.
The President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation viewed an exhibition of children-made works.
The festival featured the launch of a household waste management project. The presentation was co-organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Clean City OJSC.
The festival also saw the presentation of "A young intellectual" and "The rise of the Shirvanshahs" games with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
Mehriban Aliyeva attended the opening of a museum of copper and antique works.
The Heydar Aliyev Foundation's President also visited a museum complex where she viewed rock paintings, ceramics, jewelry and other unique exhibits.
Mehriban Aliyeva also viewed an exhibition featuring weaving and pottery traditions.
