Some 96 percent of medicines used in Iran is produced by the country, Iranian Deputy Health Minister Ahmad Sheybani said, IRNA news agency reported.
Four percent of medicines used in the country is imported abroad, Sheybani said.
At present, the Health Ministry has issued certificates for production 555,000 types of food. This figure is indicator of the country's great potential in the production sphere, Sheybani stressed.
Also certificates for import of 10,000 types of cosmetics into the country have been issues, he said.
