Chairman: Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan will continue to contribute to developing democracy and law in country
Azerbaijan, Baku, July 13 /Trend, M.Aliyev/
The Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan will continue to, within its authority, make a worthy contribution to the development of democracy and law in the country. The chairman of the Constitutional Court
Farhad Abdullayev told AzerTAj state news agency.
According to him, official comments given by the Constitutional Court to the law eliminate unconstitutional application of the law.
"The important point related to the comments, which we must keep in mind, is that the court, without interfering in the powers of the legislator, in the name of the supremacy of the Constitution, should exercise its discretion in a form consistent with the spirit of the Constitution," he said.
"While finding discrepancy of legal act or its any part with the Constitution, the Constitutional Court declares it null and void. The relevant provision of this normative act loses its legal force, and it can not be applied in the territory of the Azerbaijan Republic. Because it violates the Constitution and is removed from the legal system," said the chairman.
