Famous Georgian footballer ready to vouch for arrested former teammate

Georgian national football team captain, Italian AC Milan star Kakha Kaladze is ready to vouch for his former teammate Giorgi Demetradze who was found guilty earlier this week of theft.
Demetradze previously played for the Georgian national team.
Kaladze said he is ready to offer his personal property as collateral. He also asked All-Georgia Patriarch Ilia II and Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili to intervene and help Demetradze.
The Tbilisi City Court found Demetradze guilty of theft July 8. The court sentenced him and his close friends David Gagnidze and former police officer Kakha Misireli to two months in prison. Vato Kipiani, who is currently in Ukraine, was also sentenced in absentia to two months.
Police seized $40,000 from the arrested individuals, three pistols, grenades and ammunition.
During his career, Demetradze played for Dinamo Tbilisi, Dynamo Kiev, the Spanish Real Sociedad, Moscow Locomotive, Alania, Donetsk Metallurg, Israel's Maccabi and FC Baku.
