Azerbaijan canoeist Andrey Kraytor won silver at European Championship among canoeists aged 23, held in Moscow, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Youth and Sport said.

Kraytor reached the finals in competitions on a kayak alone (C-1) at a distance of 500 meters ranking seventh in the qualifying stage and first - the semi-finals. In the decisive phase, he was behind last year's world champion Alexei Korovashkov (Russia).

Kraytor also took part in the semi-final competitions at a distance of 200 meters. He ranked first and reached the finals. The decisive contest will be held July 31.

Tamerlan Mustafayev competing on a kayak alone (K-1) failed to reach the top three in the semi-finals. He failed to reach the main final. Mustafayev will participate in the final "B", which will allow him to compete for 10-18 positions.

Another Azerbaijani kayaker Radoslav Kutsev reached the finals. Kutsev will participate at a distance of 1,000 meters on Monday.
