Azerbaijanis to take part in Georgian festival

The festival will be held in the village Leliani of Lagodekhi region (Eastern Georgia) today. Representatives of ethnic minorities of the region will attend it.

The festival will be held in the village Leliani of Lagodekhi region (Eastern Georgia) today. Representatives of ethnic minorities of the region will attend it.

The initiator of the festival is the organization "Lely-1", the administration of Kakheti region told Trend. The festivities are designed to strengthen friendship between ethnic groups living here.

Ethnic Ossetians, Azerbaijanis, Lezgins and Udins living in Lagodekhi and Kvareli regions will attend the festival. During the festival, they will present photo-exhibition about their culture, traditions and folklore.

The Azerbaijanis are one of the largest national groups living in Kakheti. They are almost fully integrated into local society and know the Georgian language well.

Festival participants will perform national songs and dance. They will also offer guests dishes of national cuisines.

A similar festival was held last year in a village Tiva of Kvareli region.
