Heat wave continues in Azerbaijan

Hot weather will continue over the next three days in Azerbaijan, Chief Hydrologist at the Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry's National Hydrometeorological Department Asif Verdiyev told Trend today.

Hot weather will continue over the next three days in Azerbaijan, Chief Hydrologist at the Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry's National Hydrometeorological Department Asif Verdiyev told Trend today.

"Sunny weather and a moderate northeastern wind are expected in Baku and on the Absheron Peninsula," he said. "Temperatures during the day will reach 37-39 degrees, and 40 degrees in some areas."

According to Verdiyev, temperatures may reach 41 degrees Aug. 11.

In the first half of the week, day temperatures will reach 36-39 degrees in the regions and 30-35 degrees in the mountains.

Verdiyev also noted that temperatures are expected to increase to 42 degrees in the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic.
