Members of the Turkish-Azerbaijani Group (TAG) climbed Mount Agrydag last week, the Azerbaijani State Committee for Work with the Diaspora told Trend.

The climbing trip was organized by the Turkish Mountaineering Federation. Eighty climbers took part in the group.

"The members reached the peak at an altitude of 5,137 meters and placed memorial plaques to Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and Heydar Aliyev," TAG Chairman Sinan Ogan said. The plaques were engraved with quotes by the two national leaders, stressing the brotherly nature of Turkish-Azerbaijani relations.

He added that the TAG will held several more significant events this year in Ankara.

"This includes the International Ramadan Festival held jointly with the Kechioren municipality," Ogan said.
