Azerbaijan is developing a migration code, the head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration's Department for Work with Law-Enforcement Agencies, Fuad Alasgarov, has told journalists.
This code is intended to regulate the arrival, leave to remain and employment of foreign citizens and stateless persons in accordance with legislation, Alasgarov said.
He said the Azerbaijani Migration Service and experts from other state agencies are working to prepare the draft document. Azerbaijan is the first country among CIS countries to develop a Migration Code.
"Work to prepare the code is underway in the Cabinet of Ministers and Presidential Administration. The code will be submitted to the parliament in the near future," Alasgarov said.
