A bill regulating the rules for mourning ceremonies has been prepared, Hidayat Orujov, the chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, said at a press conference at the headquarters of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party.

"The committee studied the experience of other countries while preparing the bill. The project was presented to the Azerbaijani Parliament. It will be discussed," he said.

He said that the control over the donations collected at places of worship is being discussed with the Caucasian Muslims Office.

The activity of places of worship, as well as religious communities, will be legalized in the future, he said.

"Religious communities will monitor this process. The donations, controlled by religious communities, will be spent in case of necessity," he said.

Orujev said that the Caucasian Muslims Office cannot control donations in all places of worship because there are about 500 of them.
