The 6th International Forum "Dialogue of languages and cultures of the CIS and SCO in the 21st century" will be held in Baku with the organizational support of the Moscow State Linguistic University on the basis of Baku Slavic University (BSU) with the support of the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation.
The event will focus on the 20th anniversary of the Commonwealth of Independent States and will take place in the form of plenary and sessional meetings, said the CIS Executive Committee.

Sergey Lebedev will make a speech at the plenary meeting. During the sessions, the participants will discuss the political, legal, economic, social and cultural aspects of humanitarian space in the CIS and SCO countries; dialogue of languages and cultures in a multilingual context of humanitarian space; the Russian language as means of international and inter-ethnic communication among the peoples; literary translation as a channel of communication and interaction of cultures and languages; religious education as a dialogue between religious and secular institutions of the CIS and the SCO.
In addition, the Forum will include exhibition of educational materials on language and culture of the Commonwealth, devised by the CIS International Languages Institute of the Moscow State Linguistic University, the presentation of educational and methodical complex on the Azerbaijani language, the round table "Intercultural dialogue in the information space of the CIS and the SCO."
On Nov. 10, at the events within the training of young scientists of the CIS and SCO, teachers of languages and cultures of the Moscow State Linguistic University will hold their workshops in a video conference, scientific and methodical seminars will be conducted on effective use of new educational technologies in teaching languages and culture, lectures on topical issues of regional studies, linguistics and intercultural communication.
The Forum will be attended by prominent political figures, representatives of state and executive authorities, ministries and agencies, academia, parliamentarians, university rectors, leading scientists, professional experts from CIS countries.
