Most foreigners who marry with Azerbaijani citizens are citizens of Georgia and Russia, the director of the Baku Marriage Palace of the Justice Ministry Hagigat Selimova told Trend.

According to her, if previously mixed marriages in Azerbaijan were mainly with the citizens of Iran and Turkey, over recent years, the number of marriages with the citizens of Georgia and Russia has increased in the country.
"Basically, the citizens of Russia and Georgia marry with Azerbaijani citizens. Most of them are Azerbaijanis," said Selimova. According to her, a reduction has been recorded in the number of mixed marriages as compared with the previous years.
